I’ve been working on a bike for awhile now, and after diagnosing a clutch issue that ended up being my springs had been WAY over tightened (which broke the pressure plate). I replaced the pressure plate, the clutch lever feels good now, it shifts into gear smoothly (bike is not running currently), the problem is when the clutch lever is completely pulled in, the bike stays in gear. In theory, if the bike ran and was put into gear, pulling the clutch lever would not take it out of gear. Which is an issue obviously
Some other notes: clutch is a new one from Cyclex, it’s been oiled and has a spring plate in the middle. I removed one friction and steel plate, as it is a 78 and the clutch pack is smaller than earlier models. The friction disk tabs that go into the outer basket are smaller than the basket, by 3/16ish, wondering if the later model clutches had larger tabs and if I should call Cyclex about it.
