Bottom Throttle Cable, how to install? - 1973 CB350F
« on: October 25, 2019, 06:19:27 PM »
When I bought the bike, it didn't have a bottom throttle cable - the one that connects on the bottom part of the arm by the carbs. It's the cable that "pushes" on the arm by the carbs. I bought a new set of both cables (upper and lower) from 4into1.com.

Is there a trick to putting the bottom cable on? Seems that no matter what I do, it just doesn't want to reach the bottom slot on the arm by the carbs. Seems simple, I just attached at the throttle handle and snaked it down to the carbs. There isn't any adjustment on this cable, unlike the upper cable which has an adjustment.

I'm attaching a photo with the word "HERE" written to show where the end of this cable fits.

I'm sure there is more than one way but I just release the upper cable from the bracket that the threaded portion of the cable attaches to, should give you enough slack to get the end of the bottom cable attached.

+1 to releasing it on the upper side. Had to do that on my k7. I always dread messing with these cables.
