Detonation on 1 spark plug
« on: September 20, 2018, 04:06:48 PM »
Im running NGK DR8ES-L and I noticed after a longer ride in 60ish degree weather last night and the bike got pretty hot. I spent most of my time going 50 to 60mph which should should have kept the engine pretty cool since I was freezing. Fresh oil change with 20w50. Pulled the plugs and they all look equal now except for the #1 cylinder that had some specs. Once the bike got warm after 20minutes it started to feel a bit lacking and more whiny. Needed more rpms to go from stop to start to pickup speed. On the number #! cylinder I have a quarter of the way crack where the pipe connects to the baffle could this be it? Maybe adjust the pilot screw a little richer to compensate? There's also a big spot on the ground strap that I've never seen before. Timing?
