Aren't they for 2 different purposes: holes for lightness and cooling and slots for venting the gasses that build up during braking? Which is why most high performance disks have both.
Also, why? Are you going to race? I liked my thinned and drilled front rotor on my 550 because it was much lighter, which improves suspension performance, but I don't know that it made any noticeable difference in the quality of braking in normal riding.
