Yeah, last week we had 2 separate incidences here where pit bulls attacked people. One of them went after an officer after attacking a person. I know for sure one was shot and killed as it was just going nuts on some guy and tore him up bad. Had already attacked some woman right before that.
The other got shot but I think it lived. I have no idea how they were brought up but in at least the one case, no one could understand what set the dog off since it was usually so gentle. We've had at least 4 more this year already in this area, one of them being the dog of the owner of the logging company on the show Ax Men on the Discovery channel. A 4yo girl was killed that time, right in the front yard. I think that one was a rott though. It's so sad and yet seems to be at least predictable as far as certain breeds are concerned.

This has been a pretty steady rate for over 15 years now. More than 5 million people get bitten in the US every year. More than 900,000 of them are serious. Over 31,000 of them need plastic surgery for it.
I love dogs too but I see enough bite victims in a year to not want certain breeds anywhere near me anymore. It just isn't worth it to me. Your dog looks sweet, Spikey. I'm sure she is. I hope she stays that way.
