Man you guys are copping it hard up there. And in the west too. And a lot of shacks and caravan parks along the Murray in this state are bracing themselves for high levels too.
The old adage - 'it never rains it pours' eh. ::)

We need a good amount of rain but what i don't get is it is either not raining at all {drought} or it just pours non stop, nothing in between.....I'm well and truly over it now ... ???

About the amblance deal, I've never been in one, but my advice is make GD certain you (or your loved one) has no valuables on his or her person before entering.

Why? Things seem to get "lost" in all the hubbub.

I know this because my uncle's Rolex (purchased decades before they became diamond encrusted POS's) got "lost" between his house and the hospital room he finally ended up in. My uncle would not have so much minded his wallet being lifted, but he is a watch guy, and it's very important to him. By the way, he was in the hospital for a heart attack.

Short story long, 2 things: One, I am grateful that I got to the hospital within an hour or so. Two, "anger is an energy" (PIL). I applied controlled rage to the to the entire ER and amblance drivers, and MIRACULOUSLY and I do mean MIRACULOUSLY, the watch was "discovered" in the ER room he had been in. This was surprising because it was "found" hours after he had left the room, and about an hour after they started "looking for it."

I just got a call this morning for a one week contract job in Puerto Rico for later this month.  I will be staying here with flight and all other expenses paid.  I tried not to sound to excited. :D  Putting in two small video conference rooms for a large med-tech company. We will be staying on the east coast near some good snorkeling so my gear will be packed. Looked at an aerial photo of the resort area and it looks like there is a reef off the point.
Word.
San Juan is titties. I stayed in Ponce, its kinda ghetto there....
Brought back 1.5 gal of home made rum though. Puerto Rican Moonshine!

Yeah, PR aint' exactly Cancun, there is a reason why a #$%*load pf PR's live here.

Well Cancun sucks too as does Playa del Carmen unless you're a drunken college student.  If you go to the Yucatan stay south of Playa.  The resorts are much nicer, low rise buildings that blend in, with extensive grounds and large beaches.   None of that high rise crap for me.

We are staying near Humacao in Puerto Rico.  I think they offered this to me as consolation for getting bumped off a  2 week job in China.  I am a contract worker and I was bumped off by a full timer who decided to go.  Bummer as I had built the equipment racks for the China job. :(

Dookie man that sucks, plus that $930 sounds really high to me.  I work for our county fire dept. here and I can say that are taxi service doesn't cost near that much.  Now if we have to call in the helicopter then it's a different story cause they are a private firm who set their own rates (which are very high).  Hopefully it all works out for you, and the other guys insurance will pick up the tab.

Can I have Chocolate and Vanilla?

Thanks for the birthday wishes.  My kid is being a total bastard tonight (after we take him snowboarding on his brand new goddamn #$%*ing gear) and my woman in on a juice fast so that means no cake or dinner.  #$%* My life.
My helicopter ride cost $4985.  39 air miles and a shot of morphine.  Good time.

Well, the city took over the private MAST service and since they are broke that probably explains the insane taxi service they provide.

Some lady that said she was from State Farm called me and my insurance agent the other day and said since they saw the accident report I am at fault and that I need to file a claim with my company (WTF?!?!). The cop that botched the report has not contacted me after leaving two messages so I left one with his sergeant and I'll be meeting with his sergeant face to face tomorrow night to hash out this erroneous report.

God, what bull#$%* I am dealing with on this one.  ::)

I am #$%*ing lucky I was only dinged up a little and not seriously hurt or I would be dealing with that bull#$%* also.
