Okay, so I was surfing channels and on CNN there was this story(I apparently missed most of it) about a dude who wrote a book on single Dads, and was talking about how they have to step up the quality because of the lack of quantity of the time spent with the kids. I immediately thought of you, Manny, and how you do just that, and then some.  And I think I speak for all of us when I say we thoroughly enjoy the vids you post of your activities with your kidlet.

Just got a text from Spikey...He asked me to post this...he had a spill this morning while riding the KZ, caught loose gravel in a corner, slid then high sided.  He thinks he's OK, he's at the hospital getting x-rays now, but the KZ suffered some damage, dented the tank, broke the mirro and turn signal switch and lost the tailight/license plate.  As always, Spikey's worried about the bike more then himself...

In order to stay true to Spikey's concerns I'll say this:  At least he's not going to sell the CB now.

I'm a nurse now Spike, but I won't be kissing any of your boo-boos nor anything else.  Your healthcare plan does not pay for that.

We want a full report and pictures of gory road rash.  It didn't happen if there's no pics.

I'm beginning that every bike that Manny builds has to be destroyed at least once before he gets to enjoy it.  Does anyone else see a pattern here?

it really wasn't all that spectacular ...but i'll paint the picture for you ..  was coming around a corner going like 20 or 30 ... saw the gravel at the last second and..... you know how in the movies time stops for a slit second so you can think .. yeah that happened .. and here is how my brain broke it down ..."too close can't swerve outta the way .. i could : A. keep my positioning exactly were it is, don't make any sudden movements and ride it out ..or B. keep my positioning exactly were it is, don't make any sudden movements and watch the bike slide out, most likely on top of me"

some #$%*ty options for sure ... but what i actually did was a little different  ..
the road has a slight curve to the left for about 60-100 feet . then a stop sign .. i was behind a big obnoxious SUV that i couldn't see thro or around ....or over (god damn big SUVs) ..anyway, i was 2 or 3 car lengths back at maybe a 15 degree lean (guessing)  , spotted the huge gravel spot .. i was already leaning into the corner, it was either hit it , or lean harder into oncoming traffic.
i'm leaning slightly left , the rear wheel , slides right , causing me to lean farther left .BAM!!!! Hip meets concrete .   this is were the operator error comes in ...  the shock of it all happening (it's 5:30 in the morning mind you) .... i think i was trying to correct the bike .. or save it .. i don't know what the #$%* i was doing ..but..  i didn't #$%*ING LET GO!!!!  .. falling caused me to pull the bars down turning the wheel right  ..instant high side  .. threw me over the bike to the right  .... landed on my hands and shoulders .... IN THE GRASS.... YES!!!  just rolled out of it  (thank you 10 years of skateboarding!!!! ;D ;D ;D )

anyway , at first my hip and thigh hurt like nobody's business .. but i could walk with relativity no pain ... then i got back on the bike and started riding to work ... ya know , before i was late  ::)   then i thought just for safe measures i should go to the hospital ..  turns out ... i'm fine ... muscles are a lil sore but not really

and the bike isn't that bad off .. the dent in the tank is about 3"x2" ..from the turn signal switch smackin it ... witch broke the switch too .. one of my exhausts tips was ground off   .... and the thing that really has me seeing red ... my licence plate bracket is gone ... now i don't mean is broken and destroyed .. i mean it's gone    didn't see any taillight broken glass... nothin'                                                ... i never found it  >:( >:(

You think it (tail bracket) may have come to rest in a storm sewer inlet?

And you clearly didn't have permission to do this, Manny.  To schedule a mishap, you must submit a MRF(Mishap Requisition Form) at least 30 days before the scheduled mishap date. The form must be in triplicate, and signed by at least 2(two) veteran members from the SSDB(no stinkin' interns will do!)
