Have any of you guys been over to the "Do The Ton" forum site? I joined in order to hock some wares. www.fb-stuff.com  The setup over there mirrors this one. Instead of "South Side Dive Bar" they have this "Pull up a chair, grab a coffee, anything goes" thread. I have found that there are a few transplants from this site over there as well. They must post to both at the same time. Why does that bother me? I am doing it but just to make a few bucks. FYI - hasnt worked. so yeah...it sucks there. Bunch of young hipsters with cafe ing everything. Some are pretty comical.

I have found that instead of mashed potatoes, you should just nuke a watermelon and then drill a hole. You could try to fill it with mashed potatoes but you would need to add extra butter to get the consistancy right.

Three or four years ago the site was OK, but the comical #$%* kept showing up more and more, seemed like they encouraged it too. Doesn't matter how bad someone #$%*ed up a good bike, somebody always chimed in with..."Dude, that looks freakin awesome!"

Hey Franken, my pop had a huge collection of antique wood planes, and he made a few hand planes, although not of the coolness of the one on your site. We sent his collection to auction when he passed, but I have the ones he made.

Hey, Franken.  I had seen the silicon handle you made for that one plane, and asked how you did it.  I checked a couple times, and never saw an answer.

Burma - My plane of choice is that Stanley that I frankened. I engine turned the sides with a kit that I bought from Eastwood. You can do it with a drill press. I did it at a time when I was engine turning EVERYTHING. (CB550 bare steel tank, engine covers, knives...then sold it all on ebay)
Good thing you held onto the ones that were most important to your dad. If he made them they are part of him, all others are just tools.

333- I took the stock knob, textured it and molded it with a small 2 part silicone mold. Then made a brass sleeve that fit through the center and cast a clear silicone into the cavity of the mold to make the new knob. I only made one and threw the mold out.

I have several that were my Dad's and my Father-In-Laws(and his Dad's).  4 of my Dad's are wood block bodied planes.  I have a couple Dunlaps, a Craftsman(older, so it's cool), and a couple of odd Stanley's.  My fav is a Stanley, #2 I think.  It's not even 2 inches long.  They still make one that size, but it's not cast. It's a stamped steel body.

Man, Kansas has some harsh divorce law #$%*.
A guy I worked with here was getting divorced (she wanted it, no hanky panky on his part), they never had any kids, he paid the house off before they married, she has been on disability since the time they married so uneven money contribution to the relationship.

So she winds up with the house and he owes her several hundred bucks a month, and he is still laid off mind you. #$%*ed up #$%* man.  ::)

Dude.  I coulda prolly pulled that info outta "This day in shameless history", if I'da searched hard enough.  But here's some real important advice.  Never... no.  Always.... no, that ain't it either.

Oh yeah. Always know if the wall is drywall versus real plaster.  It means the difference between a hole in the wall , and a broken hand.

I have a build thread over there that I was posting to. I would just copy and paste from my build thread here. I quit doing that a few months ago because the support and people over on that site more or less suck balls. Hipsters with attitudes that are too cool for me to stand. So #$%* that site and its douchbaggery. I will surf over there a bit just to look at pics but nothing more. This site has the knowledge and the members are actually helpful.

So, I'm rollin in a 2011 Corolla now(rental). It's so nice to have AC in the car when it's 100 degrees. I may even drive the rental while I've got it instead of my bike....maybe.

Ya know, Radam, the AC on my vehicle went out a couple of years ago, and I've wondered how it has passed inspection ever since. Isn't it a requirement or something?

I don't think it's a requirement in AR. I've never had a vehicle with working AC. We don't have to get our cars/bikes inspected here though.

I found out that smoking is allowed in bars down there too, they have banned all that up here.

Lazy inspectors, Burma.  "I ain't got time to wait for the AC to start to cool".  And what about cars that are inspected in the winter? "Fan comes on, compressor comes on.  Must work!".

Yup, smoke all you want in bars! Just can't smoke in places that serve food. Some bars that serve food have made their way around that too. A few bars are smoke free just because they want to be, but you can smoke in most of them. Oh yeah, U of A campus is smoke free. ::)
