Would you believe it was 12 Tarzan movies for Johnny Weissmuller?

A great website my daughter clued me into: imdb.com, the Internet Movie Database.  I knew the answer to this question, but I went there for the correct spelling of his name( I would have missed an "S").

Imdb.com makes playing 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon very easy! I hit the site just about every day.

Me too. I look at it for movie quotes like this one:

"You better hit those bunks, my little darlins, or Sergeant Hulka with the BIG TOE is gonna see how far he can stick it up your a$$."  :D

Yeah, that was pretty easy wasn't it. This one's a little harder, but not much: "Oh I love your suits. It must have been a #$%* to get a 68 Extra Fat and a 12 Dwarf."

barney miller......Abe vigoda was a great actor                                                                                                                    how about movies.......who played Tarzan in about 6 or 7 of the old Tarzan movies.....hint he was an Olympic swimmer

Was? Still is. People magazine reported him dead sometime back in the 80's, but he's still kickin' as far as I know. There used to be this funky plug-in for Firefox that would keep you updated on whether Abe is alive or not. I know it sounds morbid, but the plugin put a tiny picture of Abe in the Firefox status bar. His tiny smiling face was comforting in some sort of bizarre way. Now, the plug-in doesn't work, and I can't tell you for certain, down to the minute, whether Abe is still with us.

Moving onto bumper stickers behind the door where Carroll Merrill is standing, I've always wanted to print up bumper stickers that say:

Was Carol Merrill standing behind the green door? Oh, sorry, that was Marilyn Chambers.  ;)

I used to have a sticker that said "Nuke a gay, pregnant whale for Jesus."  ::)

:P  Colts got spanked last night  :P

But I think that's part of Dungee's motivational tactics...  He puts in 3rds and 4ths, they try all kinds of things, and run it like a practice.

Then come the Real season they start playing for real.

They'll be neck and neck again with the Patriots again this year.  This time, we (the Pats that is) are going to the SuperBowl!

You mean his   habit  of supporting the Colts  ???

That's not nearly as bad as my support of the St. Louis Cardinals.  ::) Maybe they'll break .500 before the year's up.  ??? :P ;D

Yeah, that's how I look at pre-season. It's just practice and a lab session. "What happens if we do this?"

I hope you wouldn't put my church (American Baptist) in the same group. As proof, I can tie the sports and religion discussions together. Starting in September, my church is going to be providing a weekly bible study based on Dungy's New Book, now at the top of the bestseller list. Love him or hate him, you gotta respect Dungy.
Hey Uncrash, I vote yours the best current avatar. I learned much of what I know about driving from Speed. For example, it's important to nail the clutch when you go into a spin. It's also important to know that when cars wipe out, the driver sometimes escapes the car but dies in flames.

Call me weird -- it's been done often -- but I sometimes just listen to the Speed Racer Theme (wav file), or This Extremely Inspirational Message from Speed. I think I'll start listening to Speed's Promise before I hop on my bike. You gotta love a cartoon theme song with the words, "...jammin' down the pedal like he's never comin' back."

Another thing I learned, before I could read, was how to work a green light. When I was in kindygarten, my favorite book was Red Light, Green Light:
Why? Because whenever the reader gets to a page that says, "Green light...," the kids shout at the top of their lungs:
GO!

On the other hand, the whole concept of "green light" still befuddles tens of millions of adults.

HA!

Burma you're a man after my own heart!

I've been a lifelong Speed Racer fan.

Have you heard that the Wachowski brothers have signed on to produce a live action version of it?  Check it out on the rumor mill ---> http://www.darkhorizons.com/news06/060605e.php   --  http://www.rottentomatoes.com/news/1647150/

I've had speed racer as an avatar in various incarnations since 1998... for my gaming activities  :D

Hey UnCrash, that's some good news. I just hope they do it right. Did you catch the full scale Mach 5 that a fabricator built around '99? All information about it has dropped off the planet, and all the domains that had pictures of it are no longer hosting anything at all. I even checked the Internet Wayback Machine, and I found all the sites, but no pictures. I suspect conspiracy at the highest levels. This is about the only picture I could find:
I did find a couple of other pictures on a radio station site. It seems a Texas DJ bought the car for about $140,000. As proof that he doesn't deserve it, he has about 6 pictures of the car on the radio station's site, but at least 3 of them are pictures of him ripping the red dash apart to install a radio. The rest of the pictures don't do the car any justice.

Mark Towle is the guy who built it, and he's dropped off the face of the planet. The car was cool in all ways and extremely hot. It had a top end of around 180 MPH, although I can't remember what power plant he put in it.
