130 would be 80 mph, remember and it's totally possible.  I've been looking for a pontiac firefly and have never actually seen one.  My metro was one of the later ones that looked the same as the chevy metro...  a little sleeker than the early version... and cherry freakin red. :D

HA HA.....now that you mention it (well not exactly)  I just remembered I lost my virginity in that Firefly! I also got busted for sex in a public place in that car (not the same day!). A word to the wise....if you are going to "park" never do it at a factory that is right on a rail line. Apparently CN has patrols watching those areas and the officers aren't shy about "interrupting"!

Shouldn't that be 'where there's a willie there's a way'?? ;)

All right here, let's get technical. The Metro comes with a 1000cc triple or a 1300cc four cylinder. Mine is the triple. It's not burning oil and the compression is ok. Once I hit 120kph it is whimpering and asking me to please not thrash it any more. If the road was long enough and straight enough it might just max out at 130. I would assume that with the bigger 1300cc engine this would be an easy speed to reach.

Incidentally, the other nice thing about the car is that it has hydraulic valve lifters, so no valve lash inspection is needed. Just change the oil and consumables and you're good to go.

And no I do not have shares in Chev, nor am I car salesperson!!

That has to be about the most laterally convoluted twist of thread topic I've ever seen here. And it always defaults to Python, doesn't it?

As is mine. Now I'm all of a twitter about tihs and will have to wait until Spring before I can give it a real spanking.

And I concur with you about the lack of interior space for anything other than an across-the-front-seats (but mind where the gear shift lever sticks up) kiss and a cuddle.
