Had to chuckle at his one. Despite the fact that our bassett has a water bowl in the kitchen, she prefers the bathroom. Her front legs are about 8" so she has limited reach shall we say. So if she disappears for a while, when we finally notice, we find her lying in front of the toilet waiting for someone to come and lift the seat for her.

Sorry to bring cats into the discussion..... ours prefers to drink directly out of the tap, with the water running at a trickle. She seldom touches her water bowl, so we assume that when we are away from home she too drinks out of the toilet.

Must be a basset thing. Ours did the same thing.
