HONDA is the official sponsor for the Vintage Motorcycle Days AMA event and is specifically honoring the 50-year anniversary of the introduction of the CB750. I hope to see more than a few of you in Ohio next July ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hi all-

Just saw this today. Guess what The Quail will feature in May. If you're anywhere around California in May, it's a great event. Beautiful bikes in a beautiful setting.

In keeping with our celebration of the Evolution of the Motorcycle, we are pleased to announce that The Quail Motorcycle Gathering featured categories of 2019 are Off Road Wonders Through the 1990s and the 50th Anniversary of the Honda CB750. In addition to these featured categories, the traditional classes will include: Antique, American, British, Other European, Japanese, Competition On Road, Custom/Modified, and Extraordinary Bicycles and Scooters.

Call me insane, but I plan on riding my 73 Pandora from Atlanta to the event to celebrate my turning 60 on January 2! Some of you know the Hell I’d been through with Pandora with her numerous issues, we’ll all of that is way has been in the past for at least 4 years now. She had a complete engine rebuild in May, so I feel that she is basically a new bike, so what the Hell, I need to take her on a journey to celebrate our bikes birthday. The trip to Ohio is just one part of my birthday party, I will jump on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Cherokee, NC and ride it to the end in Waynesboro, VA, continue on to the Skyline Line , the whole thang. A stop in Chaddsford, PA to visit the Brandywine Museum of Art, which features NC Wyeth and Andrew Wyeth’s amazing art. Then I’ll head to Stockbridge, Mass to visit the Norman Rockwell Museum. Then I’ll start heading West, maybe a stop in Rochester,NY, , a visit to the Rock & Roll of Hall of Fame in Cleveland then overnight it in my home town, Canton, heck maybe I’ll go to the Football Hall of Fame there. I’ll only be about 2.5 away from Lexington, I’ll be signing autographs there because I know someone will want one. After the festival, there will be more fun back roads to Atlanta and hopefully no big issues on the road. Okay, who going to talk me out of doing this? My butt and throttle hurts just thinking about doing this but it will be worth it!

.  That’s a great ideal to bring Zola along with me. I may hit the Festival first on July 5-6 , then continue my ride eastward, I’ll post my route as we get closer to the date , hopefully I’ll get some of you other riders to join me for a few miles. My official B Day is January 2

 The guy that assembled my Sandcast from the crate and his own diecast next is planning to ride his bike to Mid Ohio, I'm tempted to ride along with the Sandcast. It would break my prohibition of going over 10,000 miles on it but it needs to happen someday right?
 My original thought was to take two or three on or in a trailer and ride while there, I'm not sure I could sleep with it parked in a motel parking lot.
 Another friend of his is bringing his old cb750 hill climber. This seems like a natural sohc4 meetup.

.  I hear you Don, I may have to find ground floor rooms with wide doors to pull Pandora in at night since she will be my only ride there and back!

 I'm considering taking my 28' enclosed trailer but it has so many tie downs and holes in the floor already I'm hesitant to add more wheel chocks. That and the 7-8 mpg I get towing it. Then the problem of where to park the dragster that only fits my 24' 8" deep garage on an angle lol.  It's nice to have problems like these instead of real ones.
My buddy has a motorhome and a 24' trailer set up for bikes, maybe he'll want to go. L0L!

VMD at Mid-Ohio race track was fun as usual..........with a few new faces......Bankerdanny.......Jerry RxMan.........Matt........and several others...........including corporate HONDA people with smiles and generous info. A CR replica was on display with reputed ORIGINAL Daytona racing parts....maybe spares :) :) :) :) :)......and a very nice sandcast with credo from Vic World. The VJMC display had a turbo-dragster with history and another sandcast plus a motor on display.

I was given permission to photo and 'touch' the CR oil tank as I explained that I was interested in replicating the filler-pipe with the standard dip-stick. Numerous other CB750s were on site including a few dozen purchased at the swap-meet to fill a container bound for Japan. My friend's K1 with NOS red tins sold on an ebay auction that ended Saturday evening while the bike was on display. He was happy and I earned a commission...........the buyer was ironically from Wisconsin ;D

My next events are Rockerbox at Road America in 2 weeks........Bonneville in late August..........and Barber in early October

I will return from St Thomas to Atlanta earlier that week and WILL be there. If you are still in the area I'll invite you to TG dinner at my sister's. I know she will be glad to see you too  ;D I'm hoping/expecting her to cook. Head back to Colorado 12/4 for a month.

Sounds good guys. I'll be hanging with Dennis Old Scrambler. Utilizing his tent in the vendor area (I think). Other than that I know nothibng of Barber. There's my phone number.

Who else is going? I'll start a thread. CycleX Kenny will be there with a setup and a couple bikes for sale.
