Here are the hub ring adaptors.

Slick. Do the rings bolt to where the Comstar spokes attach to the hub?

Yeah, they just bolt right up. It was pretty cheap, I had some rearset brackets lasered up at the same time.

It’s a great way to get the spokes on these comstar rim bikes. There is a bloke that makes them-

That's a neat conversion to change out those Comstars. Good stuff----

Pretty inventive Comstar wheel mod for spokes. Looks industrial in strength and unique. Bikes usually have room for some deviation, did you find much if any change in disc centering within the brake caliper, all said and done?

EBC makes drilled two-piece rotors for everything.  They are a little pricey, but the ductile iron rotors performance is worth it.  I had an '81 CB900F that I put these rotors on with braided steel lines.  It had two 2-piston calipers up front. That thing would go 100-0mph in a VERY short time!  If I ever get my CB engine done I plan on using the forks and brakes from another 16-valve Honda with these rotors.

No change in disc centering. It’s hard to see, but the spoke rings go around the center of the hub. The rotor mounting point on the hub is unchanged. Here is a pic some hub rings I found online.

Yeah it’s a cool mod for sure! I stumbled across it online a few years back. I just took some measurements of my hub and designed my own using CAD. It’s great because the comstar bikes are selling for a fraction of the price of the earlier bikes with spokes. Well here in Aus at least.

Good to know! I was looking around on their site today for a set. I might shoot them an email, see what the have to offer. Thanks!!

No problem.  About the ductile iron, it rusts almost immediately, but the stopping power!!

Way back when the comstars were a new thing and people(kids) in the UK could not afford comp insurance the spoke conversion was fairly common due to the cost of new comstars.
Iron rotors to bolt onto standard "spiders" (you drilled the rivets out) were also about but the problem was they worked too well in the UK's "liquid sunshine" and the wheel locked with dire results! I went to twin stainless on my 500
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

I did have my front wheel lock up after a rain once.  I was stopping at a light and I caught the bike with my right foot, much to the agony of my knee.  But for a fair weather road machine with an agressive rider the rotors are tops.  Always beware of sand and gravel on the roadways.  Always.

Those 2-piston calipers will bolt right on to F2-F3 forks, and are worth more in stopping power than iron rotors with the original calipers. The 32mm version used on V65's is the most powerful.

I'm using a single 32mm caliper with a 320mm Ducati rotor.

Just reading the name Ducati and Pink Floyd's "Money" starts playing in my head.  My bike is an F1 that needs forks anyway.  Someday.....
