hondamatic goldmine
« on: September 22, 2018, 07:24:01 AM »
so to begin, ive never had or seen a hondamatic in person. and havent really heard bad things about them i suppose. but today i ended up owning a few. just couldnt pass up this find so got my truck and trailer and went to buy them. and truck and trailer because..well...i now have 10 1976-1978 cb750a's. these were used for some funeral escort service that was getting rid of everything they had. all are complete and mostly original and vary in mileage between 30-60K along with the motorcycles i got 8 spare engines, carbs, wheels, fenders, tanks, seats, electrical stuff, exhausts and so much more crap that took 2 trips to get everything. got a whole lot of funny looks on the way home, but for the price i didnt mind. all bikes have clean titles and i think will need very little to get running and hopefully driving. and everything for a whopping $1500. just didnt think at a buck and a half a piece i can go wrong on this. this should be fun  ;D

Awesome.  I'd have to keep at least one and keep it in full funeral escort garb.

Wow, bargain! Over here we'd pay $3-4K USD just for one in that condition, maybe more! I'm not a fan, but for that price, wow! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Fantastic find! A decent running example will bring somewhere around $1500.00, so that means you bought one and everything else was free. Looks like you have some work ahead of you. My first question would be "Where do you put 15 bikes?"

If you decide to sell some parts, I'd be interesed in a seat for a "76.

Wow...that is one crazy deal you made there.  Congrats !!!

Halloween is just around the corner.  I would get one on the road and dress up in a grim reaper or skeleton costume and tour the neighbourhood.

If you want to kick it up a notch, maybe add a coffin trailer with a smoke machine, some creepy music, etc.
