A fresh stock seat on that bike look relly good with everything else in good condition. Z1-900 is probably the most beatiful bike of the 70's. 80's..... Shape of tank, side covers and the fastback is perfect. Stock type graphics too.
They cost a lot here, $10.000-20.000 US, the latter in perfect stock look. I need 2 of those, one stock, the other with hot engine and 4-1 (the hotter one can be a z1000-77 with the 1015 engine)

To clear coat it would require sanding the red first. You may not want to chance that. The polishing you did made it look much better. Use a good quality carnuba wax on it and that will protect it nicely.

The bike has yet to be polished, the Z1 that is.

I'm stuck on the shift drum mechanism of the K0. If anyone is willing to help, please watch the video and share their insight.

It's been fixed. Technically I had it together correctly the entire time. The issue is to shift smoothing the front sprocket technically needs to be spinning.

Well the bike was nearing completion. I had the exhaust to install and found a hole in the lower rail. #$%* sucks but I'm having it repaired properly. Here are a few pics of the holes and the repair process. I'm determined to get this finished one day.

I also picked up a 69 diecast. I was able to unstick the engine within 1 hr of soaking it.

I was under the impression that all of the kos came with the early swingarm with the tube mount at the rear for the chain gaurd ,am I wrong?bill

Not sure Bill, I do know the early K0s did but mine is 30xxx. Motor is mounted today. Hoping to have it all ready by Sunday. At least that's the goal.
