Delkevic fit issues for CB750F
« on: October 14, 2018, 08:22:20 PM »
Has anyone successfully fit a Delkevic exhaust to a CB750F?

I recently purchased a full exhaust for my 1976 CB750F, and something doesn't seem correct.  The original pipes I took off the bike measure 44.75mm OD at the flange, where the downpipes meet the head.  The pipes they shipped measure 41.5mm OD at the flange.  This leaves a lot of slop at the head, and I'm not confident there won't be leaks.

Second, I can't seem to get the exhaust mounted properly with the brackets given.  They gave a couple of different brackets, and no matter what I try, I can't seem to get things in a position where they will all slip together without gaps (either between the muffler and collector or between the collector and pipes).  Any chance someone has a pictures of a mounted version?

Mine fits fine. I got my header separate from the straight muffler though and received 2 different kits which allowed me to mix and match parts. Just wish I was close to my bike so I could text you some pics. I've texted them out several times but I delete them from m phone once mission accomplished. Be home in December. If you don't figure it out in the mean time then get in touch. I have one pic that just shows the finished product without any detail of the muffler and center stand install. PM your phone number if you'd like to see it.

Try this??

Thanks all, this is super helpful.

Jerry, It looks like you bolted up to the bracket in front of the passenger footpeg, is that correct? Everything I have been seeing said to bolt to the passenger peg, which would explain why I'm coming up short.  I assume you had to remove the center stand bracket
that was on there already?

Wish I had more pictures or could explain it without being there. My center stand is still in place as you can see. Stock muffler mounting bracket?? with Delkevic hardware for the center stand stop. When they shut off use of Photobucket I lost my ability to EASILY store and paste/post pictures so I don't save them once texted out. I'll be home 12/1 and can help out more. Wish I knew who I sent the previous pics out to.

Sorry about poor lighting. Hopefully this will give you an idea. I had to pack mine with some washers to get it just right.

Edit; Oops this is my K2. F model maybe possibly similar? Stand bump stop can be seen in 3rd pic.

They offer model specific exhausts for a reason. If you are trying to put an F exhaust on a stock K bike, there will likely be some fitment issues to overcome, possibly with custom brackets.
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.
