My experience of Yamiya is very well packed gods. I doubt  it can be a shipping issue.
I ordered a set of Lotus Root pipes, 1 of them was wrong model of pipe, HM300 which was very obvious. No problem to get a new correct #3 pipe from Yamiya and return the wrong since they have seen photos. Issues with customs here that needed all old paperwork to accept the new  part as free.
The pipe I got was not perfect, chrome very thin, partly missing on inside where there is a dent and hole for rear bolt not visible when mounted. I did not want to restart a complaint again with all work with customs. Painted the area with engine paint to avoid future rust

This indicate that they do not inspect the packages before shipping. The fenders might have been stored in their own boxes waiting to be shipped.

I ordered a NOS tacho from CMSNL once, I got an email that it had a dent and I could get it cheaper. They inspect the gods before shipping. I canceled the order and got refund.
DSS in UK shipped a K2 replica seat for 135 Pounds + 20% VAT. When I inspected the seat I found that one welded thread insert for hinge was missing. Mailed them with photo and told them how much a return will cost me. I got 100 pound in refund an kept the seat I could fix.
There are very good guys out there.

Last action is to contact PayPal quickly and explain the situation. This is not small money.
Damaged gods by shipping must have corresponding damages on boxes. The shipped boxes will have fresh shipping labels that should be damaged too if true. Boxes can have marks done before shipping.
If damaged due to shipping... still Yamiya's responsibility to pack it good to avoid shipping damages. Except if a truck has mangled it and similar.
Photos on boxes and parts tell the story.

Yes I bought two  fenders both were extremely well packed in individual heavy duty boxes and then both boxes were put in a larger heavy duty box with fragile stickers on it. No damage to the boxes. I was told by another long time Yamiya customer that this would be their answer ie: put in a claim with Japan Post.

They are not all the same!

Nothing is of great value until it is finished.

No marks on boxes. Japan Post will probably not accept to be responsible.
All shippings with Japan Post to me have been handled with respect. Boxes in mint condition every time.

For that price I would expect a perfect replica and would send it back. $2000 is high but we're talking about a well known established premium supplier for the discerning taste.

Any part for a sandcast is 10x the price of a non sandcast cb750.  For example.  a cb750 ignition swich is about $30 but a recessed ignition swich tor a sandcast is $300.  It's always almost the same conversion rate.  Coincidentally the parts for a sandcast part are about the same price as a related part for a harley davidson panhead.  A cb750 tank is about $200, for a sandcast is abot $2000 and also the same price for a tank for an old harley davidson panhead.
off topic but just an observation,if you bought pipes, body set, fenders from yamiya, you would be spending almost what a diecast is worth, then add all the other stuff, sandcast have the value to warrant some of these prices, the diecast 69/70 do not,so if you expect to get your investment back it will be hard,as your parts prices are that of a sandcast.bill

As an update.  Yamiya has asked me to return the items at my expense. Pay Pal thinks this solved the issue and closed my case. I have to call them.
Return postage is over $200. I would have to fight my government to get back the $459 in duty.
Giving Yamiya free advertising on eBay is what I decided on. I put a ridiculous price to be sure no one buys it as I still need fenders.

Not quite. While not ideal, Paypal held up its user agreement. They are working to get the purchase price refunded. Shipping is not covered and the duty by Canada, good luck with that.

I would think if they are returned, the duty (actually taxes) would be reimbursed.  It would probably take a bit of time.  I am not sure on this, but worth looking into.

I have the documentation to get refunded the duty charges from the government. The process takes months.
I never ever intended to return the fenders. A discount would have been a nice gesture since I have spent close to $10,000 at Yamiya750. An apology for being deceitful would have cost them nothing.

when you put these fenders next to a nos honda fender it is clear that he is not using the orginal process, which is why I think they are the Vietnam fenders reworked and then chromed, how many places are making ko fenders?he should fess up

That should be possible. I got a shipment from USA where one part was missing (I got wrong part, useless for me). I contacted the customs that refunded the VAT for the missing part. I had to mail them copies of the original receipt and refund receipt from the seller.

Such expensive parts  have higher quality expectations, especially when sold as old REAL restored Honda parts that might be something else than advertised. If it is not real Honda made parts from 69-70, a clear fault and should be handled as a fraud.
