Since I am going home for two weeks in December I am going to bother you with some pictures of my city.  How about this beer garden with view?

I can imagine a very satisfactory evening could be spent there. I had some nice beers on one of the sightseeing boats on the Vltava . .

Well truth be told, I had some nice beers everywhere there.

The old clock is in business again as of today.  The first recorded mention of the clock was on 9 October 1410.

Kev,

I will be spending 18 hours in Dublin on the way back.

The difference in the price of the air ticket was $700 - and for that kind of money I will be happily waiting in Dublin  ;D

Wouldn't it be peasants in squirrel cages in those times taking the place of batteries ?

I remember visiting Praque from Germany, when the "Iron Curtain" was still in place. Changed money on the black market (on the Karls Bridge), for a rate of 1:12 (official rate was 1:4) had a great time eating caviar and drinking champagne, which we could not have afforded otherwise.  8)

They built this in eighties. The rumor was the main purpose was to block Voice of America and Radio Free Europe.

The name for on the street was Jakes's Prick - Jakes was the general secretary of communistic party at the time.

Good King Venceslav has a square in Prague,  hmm, maybe it was a different king, but this is the very center of Prague.  Statue of Vencleslav.

And I promise I will shut up about politics and communists from now on.
