painting chrome exhausts black..any tips?
« on: January 31, 2007, 09:33:06 PM »
I am considering painting the chrome 4-1 exhaust system black? Is there any special prepwork I should attend to, aside from using a brush to scrape offf any surface issues?

Suggested hi temp paint?

It needs to be properly abraded to provide a good key for the paint, which is a bit of a job with something as hard as chrome plating.

When I had the chrome bumpers on my old VW Beetle painted I got them glass-bead blasted beforehand. The paint is still on them, ven thogh it was ten years ago when thy were done.
