069a carb sync- 1 carb falling out of sync
« on: October 07, 2018, 04:53:20 PM »
So I am trying to bench sync and get these 069a carbs dialed in, bike was idleing a little rough but running well otherwise, starts to stall out at 1200 rpm.. Im using the standard 1/8” drill bit method but carb #1 keeps coming out of sync after I tighten down the adjusting screw and nut! Seems like the link arm is loose and a little messed up, is this what’s causing it to come out of sync?? ill try and post vid.. how can i fix this? Id like to not replace if i dont have to

Was finally able to spend a little time disassembling and found the slide arm is detached.. rusted out? Or a possible weird move by po?? In either case before I order a used arm im going to try and epoxy this puppy back in and see if that works. Spinning my wheels? Wheel see..

Replaced link arm with a used one. Did a bench sync with a 1/8” drill bit, then a 1/16” bit and put the carbs back on. Started right up and idles smooth with no knocking from the primary at 1100 rpm!
