550 goes 117.438-mph at Bonneville

Sherry 'Lucy' Soliz rode her '74 Honda 550 to 4 records in the Classic 650cc classes at the BMST..........Nice pic at scootershoots.com on front page of 2018 Bonneville Pages........Is she a member here?

I saw it in impound, last day i think  .
They were putting the valve cover back on.
 What struck me immediately is that they ran drag pipes, no 4-1.
 I think the guy working on it, said it was r oadraced a lot..
 i was pretty surprised  by it..

Double edge sword to a point with being small and lightweight.  Small is great at reducing cross section drag wise, but lightweight can sometimes go against you when you are fighting for traction on loose salt.  It’s quite popular to add weight in the swingarm or otherwise down low and near the rear wheel.

Also I’m a bit surprised by the drag pipes as well.  The suspension isn’t exactly slammed down to require exhaust to ground clearance.

Regardless, great showing and well deserved records for a fellow sohc4 owner.  Being a lady is an added bonus👍
