Hondas that sit for years starting right up.

I noticed this with a Mini Trail.. sits 2 years, starts in 2 or 3 kicks.
 Today I got Jazz scooter running, sat since 2014 or 2015.
 Battery was flat , so I pulled it out, hooked a booster up.
Didn't drain gas or add any.  It started pretty quick,  I mean it may have bee  30 sec with eat art not sure.
 Dontveven know if it has a choke or a petcock.
 Hey at least it has a kicker.
 After it ran a bit, I disconnected the booster and it kept running, so I took it for a ride..
 When I got back to the shop I did this.. see pic.. lol..

Yeah, some guys crack me up with the idea that sitting too long requires a complete engine tear down. If engine turns freely maybe change the oil and a shot of starter fluid to get it started if necessary. If it starts but won't stay running then clean the carbs and ride.

Ethanol fuel  does go bad in a few months...regular real gas has a much much longer shelf life...

This hobbit  was pretty easy to get going after at least a year, maybe ten. Dumped the bowl and fresh mix, some pushing and pop!

 I got a 750 that had drained an entire tank of gas through the carbs over a multi year period. I cleaned the carbs twice, took them to an old school Honda pro and he said they were the worst ones he ever saw. L0L. It's now the best running bike in my garage.
 The one I got that was perfect right from day one had sat for years but in an airplane hanger. The PO ran the airport and I believe he rode it there and kept airplane gas in it. It also had a pamco, the battery would barely light the oil and neutral lights but it fired on the first kick.

the man said the bike sat for two years....TWO YEARS.. ethanol gas does NOT go bad in a few months, but you spend ( waste) your money as you see fit,
    i know all about pure gas....it doesn't go bad in two years either, obviously...

The scooter was written off in 2014, been sitting in the shop since with front end off. I sorta straightened it, and put it back together,  stem was bent 20 degrees sideways.
 Did you guys know it uses balls in the races, but smaller like a bicycle and caged.l sure be nice if the fours had caged balls.
