84 VF700 magna front end swap a possibility?

I have my 1977 750A project that I've been working on, but recently received an 84 VF700 Magna, and an 86 VF1100 Magna for free as they were going to be crushed. I'm going to get the 86 up and running, but has anyone tried installing the front end with a custom machined stem(possibly) from the magna to the CB750? I am also in the works to get 2 V45 Sabres from a friend.
As of right now I cannot disassemble the 84 700 front end as I have to have it complete so I can move it around.

 Dual disc ? Why that front end ? Any reason ?
Making stem, usually 80 bux and up.
 If lower  tree is steel you may be able to use  the 750 A stem.

It is dual disc, and I have an almost complete parts 84 VF700c bike. I've got the lathe and bridgeport to possibly build a new stem or if need be machine the one from the 84 to fit. I just cannot find the dimensions of the VF700's stem. I've found the bearings, but not the length. It has 37mm forks also. I also like the bars on the VF700 a little better than the stock bars on the 77 CB750A, and yes I know I can just swap them out easily. I also like the controls. The CB750A needs a total wiring job as P.O. totally fubar'd the original wiring.
If I didn't want to get the V65 up and running that has 41mm forks with the same dual disc setup.

Now there's a question I've never heard asked. I've had a bunch apart but never thought to measure that, probably because I was just replacing bearings. I don't deal with the 700s much but when it comes time to work in the big Magna I might be able to help answer some questions.

I have often thought of using Interceptor forks which should be very similar.
If it works good, it looks good...

I looked at the Fork conversion on AllBalls racing and the 750A bearings are the same as the VF700. Think I'm going to have to pull the VF700 apart to keep the parts that work for both the VF1100 and the VF750 Sabre's I'm getting. 5 bikes made into possibly 3 usable bikes is a win to me.

Honda seems to use the same size steering head bearing in all of their bikes, and they have typically a long and short stem in the triple trees. When I installed the CBR600F1 Hurricane forks on my VTR250 Interceptor, there was only the difference in length of stem that I had to contend with. So, I swapped the stem from a VTR250 lower triple clamp into a VF500 triple tree, as the 37mm forks from the CBR600 were the same as the VF500,  and it worked perfectly. The VF500 had the longer stem, but identical bearings, and so I was able to mount everything up the same as they mounted the ignition, etc the same. Even the CBR600F1 triple trees were the same bearing sizes, but it also had the longer stem. I could have used it and steepened up the fork rake, as the F1 has steeper angle than either of the Interceptors, but I would have had to mount the J-box, fuses box, and ignition differently, and it would have been too much hassle. As it is, I have the same rake and trail, just WAYY better forks and dual disk brakes.... and it handles better than just about anything out there! So, I would try and see if the stem is all you will have to contend with, or get a set of triple trees that are the same O.D. as the VF700C forks. There are a few out there to choose from! Once you have a triple tree that will suit your bike, then do the stem swap.

I'm remembering those early Magnas' front end were very nervous with a loose grip or only using one hand. A good friend had a 65 back under warranty several times before Honda installed a dampener on it.

That's what I was thinking too, Frank. I wasn't sure about the fork tube diameter of the VF700C, but as long as the width of the GL1000/1100 triple tree is the same as the Magna, the forks will slip in and the same front wheel can be used without adaptors. If the whole front end can be put into a set of triples off a Goldwing, that would be a blessing!

Sorry computer crashed and lost where and what I posted. No I haven't gotten much further as winter kept the donor bike outside, and now I'm going to take the front end from the V65 Magna with the 41mm forks.

 The V65 has the 32mm double piston brakes with anti-dive forks. I put a set of the calipers on my gl1000 using VT1100 sabre brackets. They also fit 77/78F black forks.
 I think the magna has 30mm dual calipers, the VT1100 does anyway.
