What are the odds?
« on: October 21, 2018, 09:31:37 am »
So what are the odds of walking into a motorcycle museum, in this case the "wheels through time" motorcycle museum in North Carolina and not only do you spot a bike that's same as a bike you once owned but in fact IT IS the actual bike you once owned? After spotting the bike my brother started asking questions about it's history it turns out the owner of the museum was the same guy my brother sold it to back in the early 80's when the museum owner had an HD dealership in Illinois.

The details of how my brother spotted it are just now filtering in. It turns out the bike wasn't actually on display but my brother did recognize the name of the owner of the museum and mentioned how he had sold him the XLCR back in the 80's and someone there said "we have your bike in the office". No that's not Dale but my brother Jack.

Cool. I got a call the other day from California.
The guy was cleaning his shop and found a parts wanted flyer ai had made up long ago. He said he got it in 96.
So a few days later I call him, we have a nice chat ,  and I may be selling him some early bike literature. Pre 1925.
I had heard ofvthis guy before, a buddy has dealt with him a few times.
The guy actually collects vintage travel trailers from the 30,s.  He said most were one offs.  Cool..

I like that dog layin' in the chair.  Recently had to put my 14+ year old German Short Hair down. It didn't like laying on the floor either !

It turned out to be a very eventful road trip for my youngest son, my brother and a friend of his. On the way home they decided to drive the Chrerohala Skyway and the dragon tail one more time before heading their own ways and during the last mile of the dragon my brother who was driving his Mustang between his friends Vette and my sons WRX got busted for reckless driving even though my son claims they were actually behaving themselves. How my brother got busted but they didn't isn't clear yet but he would've had a lot of explaining to do to my sister inlaw when he got home yesterday.
