Rear set pegs?
« on: January 25, 2007, 04:43:32 PM »
I'm trying to get the pegs on my 78 550 back a little. I found a shiftlinkage & peg that fits perfect from a CB 400, I think. The problem is finding a Honda footpeg for the brake side. The shift peg mounts to the rearmost engine bolt and hangs just below the swing arm pivot bolt. What can I fit to the brake side that will match ? The peg needs to tuck in so not to ground too easy. Any ideas?

Well if you want to go to some after market stuff, I would try to find some Dustall rear sets or Raasks or Tarozzi rearsets
or try these links          http://www.discovolantemoto.com/

or this link that has some nice rear sets

All of my bikes use Dunstalls but I love that old school stuff
good luck

Big Jim: Thanks for the reply. The shifter fits so good and looks Honda, I'd like to match on the brake side. Not to mention I'm cheap. There has to be a stock peg that fits. I can shorten it to tuck in better. I need to get this project bike finished and on the road.

Just pick up a right side 400 peg & bracket. A 400 brake pedal can be heated & bent to fit, or shorten your original.

I'll give that a try. Reinventing the wheel or extensive fabrication is beyond me.
