I think the 50th Anniversary  Reunion, could be on Route 66..
Even if we have it in the middle of nowhere , but advertise it, they will come.
 It would be FOURking cool..

Yes, the road to Oatman and burros.

We just finished the entire route 66 back in September I'm sure you had a blast.
Yes, we had a great time.
There is a really good video on youtube if you want to relive your trip -

We stopped at an oasis in the California desert, it was 112, hotest I have experienced in this life, we went inside and had a cold ice tea, while we were there a guy came in on a Harley with a girl, the girl was basicly nude, couple strips of cloth but basicly nude, my friends wife was with us, she took the photos, the road not the girl.
Please tell me the name of this place ... I have forgotten.

I looked through my photos and found the Amboy volcano which was near our stop.
Yes, it had to be Roy's cafe.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy%27s_Motel_and_Caf%C3%A9
In 1938, founder Roy Crowl opened Roy's as a gas and service station along U.S. Highway 66, in Amboy.
Burris even brought power to Amboy and Roy's all the way from Barstow by erecting his own poles and wires alongside Route 66 using an old Studebaker pickup truck.
Burris was known to have strong prejudices against "rowdy bikers and men with long hair" and chased off many "unacceptable patrons" at gunpoint.

i hope roy's makes it,although i'll probably never get out there again. i've been twice.
The current owner is trying to make a go of it but they have water issues, as in none.
No one wants to truck it out there and a well they tried to drill this past year hit salt water. The discussion has now turned to a desalination system, they told us. Not cheap.

Rt 66 starts in Chicago, but that said I rode a big chunk of it in 2017 on my way back to Chicago from the SOHC4 Family Reunion

I went through that area in a car last year after the NHRA winternationals in Pomona. I noticed a lot of abandoned homes, I assumed due to lack of water. We went through 29 palms and Joshua tree since my buddy was born there at the Marine base and lived there when he was young.
