A Minor Probelm
« on: November 04, 2018, 06:01:40 AM »
Changed out my badly de-chromed side cover on the brake side for a nicely restored one from Justin Smith at Motoplus.US today. Located in Gainesville, Florida, this individual has a large yard full of vintage Honda (and other) treasures. The issue at hand is that the return spring came off so fast and easily, I didn't note it's original position when installed. Can anyone tell me please where on a 1978 CB750 F the foot brake return springs rests on or near the frame? Any input is appreciated in advance. Thank you.

Sort of. Believe the K's have a useful stay at the back of the brake rod, which helps to keep the spring on the rod so it can be stretched over the locating bolt. All I did was touch mine, and off it came before I could note where it attaches to the frame. The arrangement on the F (or at least my F) is hard to line up without scratching the very piece I replaced in the first place. Frustrated with this deal. Thanks. Good to know at least I'm not missing any parts.
