Carb choke shaft end plates on carb 1 and 4...
« on: November 05, 2018, 12:07:15 am »
I'm in the process of putting my carbs back together and noticed that I only have one of the little blanking plates that goes in the holes for the choke shaft on 1 and 4 carbs.  I've looked back over my photos taken before pulling them apart and the plate was missing from carb 4 then also.  I assume there should be one at either end and if its missing is going to cause vacuum issues?  Does anyone have a spare one up for sale that could be posted to Australia?

Thanks guys

Shouldn't make mush difference as far as your carb vacuum.  It's upstream of the throttle slide where vacuum is initiated.  I would put some felt in there oil it and see if you can fashion a plug of some fort to hold the felt in.  Lack of a plug will allow dirt to get in and over time wear the shaft/hole all be it slowly as it really isn't much of a moving part.
