Adjusting a regulator/rectifier combo
« on: November 12, 2018, 04:08:23 PM »
Bought a Oregon regulator/rectifier combo to clean up some clutter- now the CB only charges to 13.5v max. How do you adjust these? I’m familiar with the stock style adjustment

Dont think you can adjust them it is all done with magic inside

13.5 is a descent average value for maintaining a 12v lead acid battery during cruise conditions.

Do you have a fully charged battery?
What is the voltage with most of the loads removed from the electrical system and the engine revving above 3000 rpm?

All load off the bike, still charges right up to 13.5 by 4K rpm.

Oregon sells both adjustable and non-adjustable regulators; do you have the adjustable version?

I have one. It is adjustable but I left it the way it came to me. It's rock solid at 14.1 volts.
