has anyone used cms pistons and rings from silvers or CMSNL on a cb750 if so which is the top ring there is the black one and a lighter colour one thanks DD

It may be hard to see, but the top ring outer face will be dead square to the bore, to sit flat against it. The second ring will have a tapered outer face... installed so it scrapes oil down the bore towards the crankshaft.

Chromed ring in top groove, black stepped ring in second groove ALL markings facing upwards

thanks for the reply I was confused with the black rings being on top when unpacked thought they were packed in order of fitting as the oil rings were at the bottom of the package thanks once again DD
