hi Everyone!
I have had the considerable pleasure of owning and riding a 1976 CB750F since the fall of 1976 when I bought it new.  I have put about 80K miles on it since then.  About 5 years ago I began a thorough restoration which I hope to complete this calendar year. I have kept riding it during this time.

A picture of it is at:    http://www.squarebirds.org/users/johng/CB750F.jpg

It has benefitted from some NOS parts as well as good luck on Ebay.  The wheels came from Shelby-Dowd in 1977 and are cast aluminum, replacing the spoked stockers.

I live in the country in central Massachusetts and do most of my own work except for machine work which I take to Harry's Machine Parts in Northboro, MA.

Nice bike and welcome from one 76 F owner to another. 80K miles is quite impressive. I hope to get at least that many from mine.

That's a sweet looking bike.  Looks like a sub-10K bike; hard to believe you have 80k on it.  You've done her proud!  Great set of wheels - I've never seen those before.

thank you for the generous compliments!

The photo is a bit flattering. The tank is faded from the sun and needs to be restored. I have the stripes from the outfit in CA that repros them but have to get the Candy Antares paint and get on with the paint work.

The seat cover is actually original!  The reason is I took it off around 1979 and made my own which lasted a long time. A couple of years ago I found I had stashed it away in a box so I got it out and reinstalled it.

Carroll Shelby had a wheel company in the 70s and sold cast wheels for 750s and Z1 Kawis until the manufacturers came out with their own wheels (Honda in 1977).  These were a steal at $177 for the pair! The only shortcoming is no shock protection for the rear sprocket so the chain takes a bit more abuse than with a stock wheel.  Lester's setup was probably better

John, she is sweet, regardless of the lighting. ;)  Welcome, and it's good to hear a story of someone who is restoring a SOHC/4 he bought new.  Good luck with finishing it up.
