I have a small handful of vintage Japanese bikes, but they are predominately Yamaha 2 strokes with the gratuitous Suzuki TS185 thrown in for good measure. I was talking with my nephew the other day and told him to be on the lookout for me a turn key Suzuki GT550. Within a few minutes he sent me a Craigslist ad for a '73 Honda CB350F. Imagine my surprise when I opened the page and there was a 350Four *exactly* like the bike I had through college and my wife and I rode on dates; down to the exact same luggage rack and padded backrest. The bike still has the original OEM exhaust!
As luck would have it, the bike was in Ohio but only 5 miles from my brother's house. A phone call later and he was off to look over the little Honda. I was able to talk to the seller and my brother sent several photos and videos of the bike and a deal was made that day. The bike is temporarily in storage in my brother's garage and will be delivered to me this coming Monday. It isn't perfect, but it's a nice survivor and I'd say by the pictures a solid 8 out of 10. Looks like the worst problem is the dreaded head gasket leak on the right side but I'm hoping (in vain, i'm sure) that some frequent 45-60 minute rides will help swell those dastardly O-rings back so that I'm back to a unsightly weep.
Looking forward to getting this Honda on the road and doing some 2 ship with the trusty RD400
