knock pins/dowels cb750k4

I am rebuilding my cb750k4 in the parts lists it says for the the knock pins/dowels for the on top of crankcases are 12x15
 under cylinder head are 12x22 but all I have is 4no of 12x18 which were fitted on later models are they ok to use

Measure the depth of the recesses in both mating parts, where the dowels are fitted. If the total recess depth of both parts, is say 16mm, you’re not going to get a 12 x 18mm dowel to fit without modifying it first.

The parts list is wrong. 12x22 doesn't fit. 12x18 is the correct size.

Yep, many things in parts lists are wrong. Don't believe everything you read  ;)
