Throw that piece of crap away, use a paddock stand or a flat motorcycle jack.

that's fine if you and your bike spend all your time near home. but for those who do longer trips a centre stand is quite handy. i wouldn't want to miss it for maintenance or repairs when travelling.

On all my travels it has been my habit, say every 3-400 km, to inspect the rear tyre to see if not some nail was working its way in the rubber. Being able to spin the wheel is quite handy.

a lotta bikes come new with no centre stand these days?a bit like those dumbarse stupid space saver spare wheels in cars?like car or truck drum brakes that spring is easy with a hook tool and vice grip,or stretch it and place washers each coil and pull em out after?take those gaitors off the forks they gotta add an ounce?

that's probably true for most people but some are more crazy than others.
everyone has to make their own choices... but i'll keep my centre stand. guess that puts me in the crazy camp.

Plenty of bikes overthere, Flatlander. Was in CA last summer. Stunning roads, if you know where to find them. A guy rented me his Suzuki SV650 V-twin for only $ 60,- and my oldtime buddy showed me a deserted and scenic loop. What a perfect day it was!
