Police hunting mystery swordsman

Police on Tyneside are seeking a man carrying a sword who came to the aid of plain clothes officers during a burglary attempt.

The officers were threatened by a man with a knife after they discovered armed men trying to break into a house in Laygate, South Shields.

Another man armed with a samurai sword appeared and attacked the man with the knife, before leaving the scene.

Three men have been charged with aggravated burglary.

One faces an additional charge of attempted wounding with intent to resist arrest.

ROFLMFAO!!!

WTF??? I am almost in TEARS I'm laughing so hard!!!

I would so die to see what this person looked like.. I mean did he have everyday cloths on, did he look like the guy off highlander or was he just excited for the new teenage mutant ninja turtle movie coming out.

On the flip side though you have to give him props for possible preventing a protector of our public from getting cut up.

Bet that freaked the cops out though..

Not in South Shields he won't have been, more likely to have been dressed like an Eskimo. Even Polar Bears wrap up warm when they visit that part of the world :o

But wait, wait, banning guns ended crime, didn't it??? ::)  I mean, that's the "justification" they try to use over here, anyways.
Seems they need to re-examine their thinking, or just come out and say the real reason they want us unarmed.

"The police officers gave this description of the mystery man: Caucasian, mustachioed, in his 40s, of medium build, and height approximately 5' 10""

I told you it was him! Wait, is Tom Cruise that tall?
