New Memeber / Appreciate this place
« on: November 30, 2018, 04:39:28 AM »
Hi group,
New member here. Tuning in from upstate NY, Rochester area. Been around the sun 38 times so far, hoping for a lot more.
I have been working on a 1978 CB550K and this place has been immensely helpful. Been modifying it to match my "style" and have done nothing irreversible. I have been glued to the search function for a couple of months. Electrical and carburetor issues mostly.
I have been shade tree wrenching for most of my life, but mostly cars, tractors, ATV's and outboard boat.
Bikes owned:
2008 Yamaha FZ6
1978 Honda CB550K
I look forward to soaking up the knowledge here, hopefully I have meaningful ideas to share.
Lord grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.

If it sounds like I know what I'm talking about, it's because I cut and pasted from someone else.

Welcome from Georgia.

Attached are the toys.
CB is as purchased (bottom), and then the current state on top. Looking forward to 50 degree temps this weekend to reinstall the carbs using tips and tricks learned here.

Sweet looking 550, like that color.

yep, waiting for some warmer weather......(although it's gonna be raining)....I can at least get out in the garage and maybe get some carb work in too.

Thank you. It is a vinyl wrap, matte purple and matte black. I could not bring myself to repaint as the original is in great shape. I just loathe the color brown.
