Who makes original equipment Honda cables? Alternatively, who makes good aftermarket cables for a '78 CB750K. I figure on replacing the throttle and choke as long as I have the carbs off.

+3 for MotionPro. I replaced my choke cable with one. It's 2-piece instead of one; not sure why but I'm guessing the barrel in between the piece is a length adjuster.

Having spent years buying Motion Pro then going back to Honda cables...Ill never go back...Honda quality is so superior to Motion Pro...money well spent ;-)

Dont go cheap on the bike

Honda cables are not much more money. Once I get out from under Christmas, I will by a set from Honda. If the new set is the quality of the old set, I should be good for 30 more years. Well the bike may last that long, me I am not so sure of.

Well either are good. I got motion pro for throttle and choke. They work just fine. I can actually turn my throttle with my thumb and fore finger with no trouble. Motion pro should be lubed but I have heard no for the honda cables?

Medic, if duster had read the bible, he would know the k8 is best. But I think his k1 rides so rough that his vision is blurred!

That goes without saying. It took Honda 9 years to perfect the model.

I have replaced all my cables with Motion Pro no problems I use their lube I bought the cable lubber and still haven't figured it out seems to get more lube on me and the bike than the cable. The main reason I went with Motion Pro was I added 2" risers and needed longer cables they made them up for me good price and fast delivery I have had no problems.

Well I bought a parts unlimited clutch cable for $15 and am not too happy with it. The quality seems okay but it doesn't really match the OEM. My bike is a cb500k and the oem # on this cable is for a 550. It has a longer overall length but the throw was the same. I had to use the original end piece where the cable enters the case because the new cable's end didn't fit in there. Parts Unlimited cable is listed for a bunch of Hondas. I wonder how many other models won't match quite right.
For the extra six bucks I'll get a Honda cable next time.
