indicator advice please
« on: December 04, 2018, 12:36:21 PM »
Hi. my Cb750k5 came without front indicators so trying to source some original ones.
I've just bought theses ones (rough but cheap) anyone able to advise if they correct for my model? The lenses match the ones on the back of my bike, its the stems i'm asking about really. They were listed as coming from a 1974 cb550.
Also are all the larger type indicators exactly the same? What models use the same fronts as my 750k5? These stem diameters are 21.5mm (0.85 inch)
Lastly i've noticed that some have 2 wires, some have only one. My bike also came without a headlight bowl so need to work out where they connect.
All advice greatly recieved....
Many thanks
Phil

You need to check part numbers to see what fits and to be 100% correct fronts should have two wires for running lights rears only one

In the US, the 74 signals were smaller than what you've pictured.  Those are 75 or later in stock offering.

The fronts have two element bulbs, thus two wires +housing ground connection.  The rears have only one element bulbs, one wire for power and the housing ground return.
I'm not certain the CB750 is the same as 550.  But, the front stems mount on the fork ears, which themselves must have a green wire to plug into the green wires of the harness in order to make the bulbs work properly.

The rears had a different stem mounting to a tab on the grab bar rail.
