I of course look at you guys with a jaundiced eye. The first thing here is as mentioned the snow and ice dam test, second making sure the alternate source of heat is Ok, third alternate source of power is working, forth Med's are topped up, fifth booze and food supplies are at optimum, sixth the small dirt bike you been farting with for just such an occasion stars and runs ok, then you are left with the happy experience of a snow day, so throw another log on the fire, have another toddy, cook, or take small bike out and practice slipping and sliding and falling off with out hurting yourself (FUN) Here we know there are going to be days when you don't go out on the roads period and if some higher authority (boss, God, woman) what ever wants you to, find a new one, that's why I never saw the need of an all wheel drive car if it's bad enough out to need it's use, you shouldn't be on the roads causing grief for emergency types (Cops, Firemen, Ambulance). #$%* even the Ontario government realizes that you need a plan, and a kit to use every once in awhile. ( they come out and tell you that occasionally) It's part of living that's why an electric oven with a gas range and a wood stove, maybe if problems are common a generator for fridge, freezer, sump pump. I think you southerners have gotten soft. Here it's not so much prepping as the realization if nature says you are a grease spot you'd better be ready, or you will be a grease spot.
Not really a rant but it's over
Bill the demon.
