Metal fragments in my sump..........

Have just started stripping my new baby - CB750F 1977.  I found the following metal fragments in the oil sump - rest of the oil from the tank and sump was clean.  I've checked primary drive slack - less than 70mm to bracket.  I will be pulling out the motor soon, any ideas where it might be from?  Its all aluminium (not magnetic at all anyway) - largest piece is just over 3mm.  I wasn't planning to crack the lower cases unless I had to.  I Also broke the oil filter gauze when removing it, I hope these are easy to get.

Cheers

John

Can't offer much on the fragments, but Honda had the screen 8 months ago.  Part number 15150-300-000 $16.60 on Parts Fish.  If you have enough other parts to make up an order worth the $8.00 shipping minimum, get them from Service Honda, they're always less than anyone else.  Otherwise, order one from your local dealer.

Thanks guys,

I wipped the head and barrels off today and there are no signs of catastrophic damage.  Some of the bits do look like they were in there for some time - I'm thinking maybe a chip off gear change mechanism or something.  Bike was rattly before the strip down..
