Back when, I found the SOHC4, I shortly afterwards, also joined up at honda305.com. I also had a long time interest, in the old CB77 Super Hawk & the CL77 Scramblers and was happy to be taken in as a member of the SOHC4 & later, at Honda305 & a few others, along the way (Honda 450 (DOHC) & a few others Well, over time, a number of them have gone under, for one reason or another. But now, the Honda305 looks like it has been nearly completely taken over by "SCAMMERS"!! It is a real shame, to se something like that happen. I am really Thankful, for Glenn, the Moderators & the SOHC4 Family, for "Our Home" still being here & Still Growing!

Interesting theory...but I always though that "English" was a "Saxon" language which developed during the occupation  of the Angles and the Saxons, i.e.: the "Vikings". There may have been an influence brought to it by William the Conquerer and the Bretons/Normands, but "British" as a language does not have much in common with their neighbor's tongue in the South, across the "Channel".
Outside Britain, in Europe, it has always being said that Scandinavians have the best "English" with the least foreign accent.
I think you are playing games with us here, with your refined switching of the "Vs" and the "Ws"  ;D ;D - or have you ever paid for a Wolwo with a Wisa card...?? 8)

This SOHC4 forum is slowing down too. I can see the difference over the span of seven years i am here.

Imho regulation is a killer, i joined one dohc forum for my CB900C - good forum, biut lot of rules and very little activity. They are dead, they just dont know it yet.

So, anyway, about the "losing of another motorcycle forum", I just tried to go over there, to see what was happening and apparently, it is now gone. I couldn't even bring the honda305.com up! So, I guess it is gone.

I have been on a few forums, as every time I buy an old bike,I have to find out how it works! Ergo, the Search for the Holy Grail of Two Wheels, and the Book of the Dead for some bikes, as they don't support them anymore...
But, I will say, that this Forum has the most information and participation of just about any other forum I have joined. The COG Forum is great, and the Venture Riders forum was good, also, but is falling off and may be dead before too long. The Royal Enfield forum is dwindling, and needs fresh blood, but those old singles are fading fast.
The Honda CB750 has been an extremely long-lived motorcycle, and has most likely outlived its projected popularity in 1969. That these bikes have the appeal still as a great motorcycle, and this Forum proves that, is a Testimony of Honda's dominance through this particular engine design. They are still supported with aftermarket parts and accessories. I will keep my 1971 CB750 Four, and ride the wheels off it, and it will most likely outlive me... barring accidents hehe.

P.S.- Bill the Demon, good to see you here still!

I've owned and ridden CB750's since the 1970's, and remember when when they were virtually worthless in the 90's, before Carpy came along and re-created the "Cafe Racer" using old CB750's that he bought for 50 bucks at yard sales, and breathed new life into a largely forgotten marque.

This forum has survived mainly on the popularity of the CB750 (the lesser SOHC4's were added later) both by new kids coming in on the back of the Cafe racer/Bobber fad, the "Over Restored trailer queen" fans, and those guys like me who've always had an old CB750 in their garage and just like them for what they are, warts and all.

Someone above mentioned that this site is going the way of some others and is probably right, as our bikes prices continue to rise, they become less attractive to new buyers, who will be just as happy riding and customising much cheaper bikes from the 80's or 90's, and will look to forums specific to that brand/model. No biggie, I've enjoyed it, but you can't stop progress. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Ha ha, well on the other hand Dave, I've been off the booze for 4 months and haven't twirled a spanner on any of my projects, so maybe all my previous builds were alcohol fuelled? Wow, if that's the case, I better open that bottle of Chivas in the cupboard and get back into it! ;D

I see more and more Honda content on facebook, the problem with that is the words of wisdom constantly scroll down the page and are lost. Quite often I refer a newbie here to get their answers.

I think Don has a good point.   "Fakebook"  is replacing many of the members of specific forums, especially with younger members.

I dont care for it, I just like to look up my former girlfriends!

As far as tech advice, you will never replace this forum for the information necessary to repair a SOHC no matter what the "fakebookers" say!!

Without this forum I probably would have shot my 550 to put it out of my misery. This place is invaluable if you own a SOHC 4.
