Number Plates for top 10 class winners MAN CUP ?
« on: December 20, 2018, 04:57:54 am »
MAN CUP RACERS : At the end [ BEFORE 2000 ] of season dinner at IDBA Tony Lee made sure you had a number plate for the next year . Wilber [ HONDA CB750 ] spent many dollars on the road to get a number 9-10 against many modern day motorcycles  ...... Hey Wilber you got my vote for the STREET ET. racer who did do well with a old time street bike .

Thanks POPS! Eagerly awaiting the tabulation of points from the final race last month to see whether I will hold a position in the top ten. If not, I'll just have to try a little harder next year!  8)

You did very good Wilbur to say you achieved top ten status on a street bike that's foot shifted, stock wheelbase and no shift light. I predicted you would do well this season and you didn't disappoint. Congratulations my friend. Looking forward to seeing you do well next season also.

Thanks POPS! Eagerly awaiting the tabulation of points from the final race last month to see whether I will hold a position in the top ten. If not, I'll just have to try a little harder next year!  8)

I'm proud of all of you guys carrying the SOHC flag to the race track for us.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.
If you love it, set it free, if it stays it's probably one of my 750's.

Dave, when can we expect to see you in the lanes (on a bike) with the rest of us? It would be nice to see our numbers increase. We seem to have far more road race and land speed record participants on this forum than drag racers.  :o

Great job Wilber. Post some pictures of your bike. :D

Frank I would love to, I would love to be able to hang out with you guys. I basically have 3 SOHC bikes I could race. The problem is the time and distance for me. I really wish That I lived closer to the SOHC action.

How much closer can it get than Dragway 42? I may have to ride the racebike to Ohio next year... I know I will not be driving an RV! I'm still recovering (financially) from the trip this past July. Maybe if I get a Goldwing running I'll tow the 750 up there with the Goldwing.  8)

Dragway 42 is not that bad for me (about 4 hours each way), But it seems as though many of the guys from south end up not making it up this way. I have many tracks around here to go and run (and I do) if I want to be the only SOHC bike there.

Wilber [9-10 ] 2018: Years ago Me and my boys [son and grand sons from California]  were at a  AMA OHIO Vintage Days flat track race in Ashland Ohio and in the gate comes a GOLD WING rider and trailer with a 750cc Harley flat track bike strapped down on trailer that he rode at that event.

I've got a few older ones here and some laying about elsewhere. So glad at least one of the fellas did well in 2018.

Keep racing Wilbur, you'll likely collect a bunch of these in the future.
