K6 clutch basket query
« on: January 10, 2019, 08:40:57 AM »
Hi guys
I am just about to rebuild my clutch on a k6 and note that the old springs when stripped out were slightly longer than the replacement k6 springs I am going to fit. The replacement springs are the correct length.
There is around 3-5 mm difference.
Can anyone advise why this might be the case, a question was raised have I got a k6 basket fitted in the bike ?, I have no idea, does anyone know how I would identify the basket I have ??????. Is there a sheet available that advises the differences ?
Any input welcome.
Regards
Paul

Can be aftermarket springs, better ones.
My K6 has longer springs, Barnett which are longer than the K6 stock. I have tested harder K6 springs of the shorter lenght. Real pain to use the clutch.
