It will be interesting to see if having several to choose from will drive the price up or down. Maybe having choices will attract more buyers. I've considered taking mine but not seriously enough to do anything about it.

Hmmm- another one and a low number one at that. What is that like 4 so far that people have pointed out at that auction. People must be feeling now is a good time to sell.

Wondering who is writing the description and where the info is coming from?

I find the following sentence to be controversial , so I am headed to go get some popcorn!

I think I read somewhere that they arrived in crates partially assembled, maybe like bicycles are shipped. So the statement might be sort of true, if a bit misleading.

Wrong pipes and guards on that one. Not sure if that is the long choke handle..
At least they left the rubber cover off the hose junction on the master cylinder. I had the 28 th one made after that.

That's how they do it and it is still done that way to this day.

However, the "first 1000 to California" claim is BS started by one Ted ~~Nakamura~~ Nomura who was not even associated with Honda. But he was Japanese so his BS got some traction.

Many of the lower VIN's were delivered to Canada via their East Coast importer. (Baltimore, I think). The first one I assembled at Pasadena Honda was a 2 digit VIN and it came in the factory crate from Japan via G. N. Gonzales, the Southern Honda importer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The first sandcast I ever got to assemble (in Illinois) was already in the low 6000 range. It was our 3rd one at that shop: my Honda mentor had the first one as his own bike (1000-something last 4 engine#).

The one in the picture above looks like my new Hallmark ornament!

A friend of mine sold a very low 3 digit,100 and something, original patina Sandie on E-bay several years back for around 25k. It was an original owner bike and the story goes that the owners father had a Honda motorcycle dealership I believe in Washington State and the fella and has brother went out there and each picked one up and then they drove them back home to Michigan. Some pics of it here somewhere I posted and remember the Sandie site was talking about it also while it was listed.
He offered it to me for 20K shortly before the auction ended and I passed and then laughed later when it squirted up another 5K. The seller was kind of surprised when the new owner from Canada came to pick it up and tossed it in the back of an open pick-up truck and headed of in the middle of a major snowstorm. He was afraid to even wash it when he got it

I found an error on my Hallmark ornament.
It has two grab rails, I think the K0 only had one.

How are you able to tell those are the wrong pipes? I don't know the difference between HM341 and HM300 without looking at the numbers....

HM300 pipes have a long baffle with vertical bar
HM341 pipes have a short baffle with two circles (no bar).

I didn't look at the baffles.
The early bikes had no number pipes, no relief for the brake pedal .....those do.. (not sure on 300,s).
The heat shield, black looks glossy, KO were grey, no gloss.
Edit, I think I was in error on the shield, it's not color, it's the chrome finish, early ones look blasted then chromed , i.e. duller finish.

Tank graphic has too steep angle down, right? They should be parallel with the tanks bent line and Honda badge.

I have looked into this on many photos before I applied mine on my K2 build. I looked into Yamiya750's tank photos and photo search in general on Internet finding old stock tanks.

Thanks for this. This bike has the HM300 pipes. I love learning about these kinds of details.

In the picture above there is no tire inflation sticker and no plate on the sprocket.
Is this "correct" for a low number?

I also note that I've seen two diameters of plate on the sprocket, a smaller one and one that is almost as large as the sprocket. I've never seen comment on which is right for which year/number of CB750. My K3 had a smaller one which I replaced with a larger size from Yamiya.

The chain guard appears to be the correct short one.

The plate was added in March 1970 at vin CB750-1026845, changed for K2

It'll be interesting to see what it makes this time.

By the way, if anyone wants a sandcast there are about 6 on UK ebay that have been on there for well over a year. I imagine at least one of the owners will be getting desperate enough to accept a low bid.
