Removing drive sprocket
« on: January 12, 2019, 12:45:23 pm »
Good evening all,

Can anyone please share their best practices for removing the drive sprocket for replacement? Can this be done with the transmission cover still on the engine?

It looks to me that the 19mm nut with the chain oiler adjustment screw in it needs to be removed and the funky lock washer as well. I am hoping I can do this using a 19mm socket and knuckle drive to get past the transmission cover. I would appreciate any help and advice. Thanks.

Sure, just remove the nut. It all comes right off, no need to take the outer cover off. Of the bike is in gear it helps.

Thanks Maui,

I visited Maui during my honeymoon in 1995. One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. If I were to strike it rich one day (unlikely), I think that would be the place I would go.
