« on: January 27, 2019, 12:16:41 AM »
Hi All
New member of the forum here...Go easy on me gents...and Ladies
I have a CL72 honda Scrambler with a different Japanese script vin plate on the engine..I think it must be a Japanese market machine
Any intel on it???  It does have English lettering and numbers also on it....but the vin#s are different than the american market ones
It was a barn find and really complete and intact..Did I find the HOLY Grail???
Thanks

Usually a service man brought back the Japanese domestic models. I heard navy guys could load them aboard some ships with permission from the captain. I had a shot at buying a pair but they had them priced out of my willingness to participate at that time I think 3 to 4K each. They had the stamped handlebars and Japanese tags. Old Navy guy, had these and two early 30's Buicks in a leaky ass old garage.

What used to be the 305 site was a good source of information,  it is almost all spam now unless they cleaned it up. Member Loudmouse was a wealth of information and would know what you got.

Also member OldScrambler a.k.a Dennis (a member here) might know something about your bike too, that's if he isn't out breaking speed records on the salt flats!
