BMW X-5 Commercial HORSE CRA&! and BS
« on: January 21, 2007, 06:30:55 PM »
Has anyone seen this commercial.

They show this retarded SUV (Stupid Useless Vehicle) passing a motorcycle in the twisties. And pulling away from the bike. Don't care how much BMW pushes thier POS. I could problably beat it on a pocket bike.
Contact me for affordable rotor drilling services at $55 each rotor. Same day service on CB750/CB500/CB550 rotors. Next day on everything else.

I've seen that commercial--looks like they shot it on the Nurburgring.

I'll bet an X5 could do it if Sabine Schmidt were driving it.  Here she is doing a 10:08 lap in a cargo van (watch her pass a bike at 3:14 in).  ;D ;D

I`ve driven the Ring Nordschleife in cars and on bikes countless times. A car will beat a bike on that course most any time due to 140+ curves on this  track. A car doesn`t need to scrub off speed as much as  a bike when entering corners.

Check out a vid of the master himself:

I don't think there's one motorcycle rider who has the balls to go 100% on that track anyway. It's bumpy, narrow and if you lay it down you'll be pretty banged up. Several people die on that track each year. That's one of the few tracks that a car can beat a bike. You won't beat an X5 on Indianapolis either.

But why not try it for yourself Cheapo? It's only 20 Euro's or something to drive there.

Porsche 911 vs Yamaha R1.  Starts about 2 minutes in.

Cool video!
But let's not forget a Carrera 4 costs ¢126.000, and an R1 ¢16.000. So they should really compare the bike with a Hyundai Atos or something. ;D

I wonder if a smaller displacement and lighter motorcycle such as the GSXR600, SV650 or, dare I say, RD400 would fare much better than the R1. Clearly it's not the motor holding back the Yamaha.
