Hello everyone,

My first time posting here, but been a visitor for quite a while. Thank you for all your posts and help!!

Today I am reaching out because I cant figure out a good rear brake system replacement for my 1976 CB750F1 supersport. I need to replace my rotor and calipers so I figured I could probably upgrade the whole system to something better.

Anyone knows of something that would fit easy?

Master cylinder retrofit should be do-able, maybe even easy if the right model is selected.  I used one from a late 70's goldwing...bolts right on but needs brake line adapter.  When I was browsing ebay there were lots of other 70s-90s honda masters that looked to be easily adaptable.

Caliper swap is gonna take some skill.

Yeah after I broke the bleeder valve on the caliper, I have been trying to replace them altogether and been having a hard to to even find a used one online.

I used a 1975 gold wing master and it bolted right on.

The broken bleeder on your caliper might be able to be repaired, which might be simpler and cheaper than fitting a whole new brake system.

For whatever reason, 750f rear brake parts are scarce and prices are outrageous.  Even rebuild kits are over twice as much as they should be.  And it is not the most wonderful braking system anyway.

Really? Thats interesting I looked at some of them on ebay and they look very similar to CB750F, I am noticing that one of the side bolts looks like its on the opposite side? Did you have to do any adjustments?

Yeah I looked at one shop here in Brooklyn to repair it and they were asking for $150 with no guarantee that it wont leak. So I figured I might be better off with a new or used systen.

Yeah thats what I am understanding too. I was able to find for the newer models but not 76 Fs....

As to modifying the ‘75 GL1000 master question. Yes, I had to change something. I can’t remember what it was! No machining, it was easy..... I bought one from a friend, ordered a Honda kit, and was done. I’ll see if I have a photo to remind me. Bike is sold......

Benelli, got to say that was a beauty!  I am definitely shopping for a used one on eBay.

Btw, this is the condition of mine when I got it a few months ago. So I decided to strip it down to just the engine and frame and start from there.
