I saw someone saying they worked but cost around $200 each.

Looks like someone felt that adding a small bit of swirl to the intake flow into the carb throat would be a benefit.🤔.  Dunno, but it looks nifty😎

Looks like real fancy cupcaketins. Couldn't you run them thru a flowsim?

no way, will make the program to crash for sure...
my main concern would be the torque reaction when you open the throttle :)

I think variable length velocity stacks make more sense and actually work.

Interesting explanation of the 'dual stack' concept.  The fact that it is tunable peaked my interest.

Don't know about those sea-shell-like stacks, but a friend of mine is a racing engineer, now in the VW-Paris-Dakar-team. He worked in Germany for a Opel-DTM-team once. I remember he told me that before he left them, he developed an intake with the inner surface covered with golfball-like dents AND littles holes spread all over. They shook their heads and put the whole idea away. Next season, Mercedes is suddenly so much faster and they find out about a special intake with holes in it! Guess who was back in the job at Opel with extra wages really fast?  ;D
Will my patience hold till the thing is finished???

"golf balling" is a well known solution to decrease the boundary layer attaching to a surface, that's why you never should polish an inlet track, just taken to an extreme. back when i was into aeromodelling, we used to put similar "obstacles" on the leading edge of glider wings, aptly called "turbulators".
these "turbo" carb stacks seem to be more about vortex creation or something

if anyone remembers the early BMW bike helmets they too resembled a golf ball, lots of little dimples across the surface, BM claimed it reduced turbulence at speed
i blame Terry
