Is there a good upgrade for the headlight; say LED maybe?

Depends on how you want it to look.

I did an h4 upgrade ages ago, it’s a lot better than a sealed beam but looks ‘classic’  I’m considering dropping an LED into the H4 housing. There’s tons of 7" round led options, but most look pretty ‘modern’ depends on if you dig that or not.

Well the bike is pretty much all original but it wouldn't hurt have a brighter headlight.

H4 is easy, some leds are good to look at when on but throw a thin washed out light on the road ahead?

Do you have the sealed beam(original) or was the headlight upgraded at some point to a H4 replaceable bulb headlight?
If you have the H4 headlight already, I highly recommend you get the Pathfinder LED (SoCalmotosports). I've been running them in my goldwing for 8 years now and the improvement of seeing at night is great as well as lower power draw on the charging system.
(Don't try to cheap out if you want to see at night!)
The Pathfinder will set you back $62 but well worth it 👌. you just swap out the bulb.
You can put in a H4 headlight reflector for $25-$40 if you don't have one in your bike already and doesn't change the look of your bike.
I don't recommend that you get the new style headlight that has sealed in LEDs as they are more expensive and give less light for you to see at night, as well as when they fail(and will fail you) you have to replace the whole headlight unit and don't give the stock look.
